Amid hectic campaigning in Madhya Pradesh for the November 28 assembly polls, BJP president Amit Shah Monday visited the famous Maihar temple near here and paid obeisance to Goddess Sharda.
Shah was accompanied by state BJP president Rakesh Singh and Lok Sabha MP from Satna Ganesh Singh among other senior party leaders.
After holding a roadshow in Maihar Sunday night, he stayed overnight in the holy town, some 36km from the Satna district headquarters.
This morning, Shah visited the temple, dedicated to Goddess Sharda and located atop Trikuta hill, and spent around 10 minutes there before leaving for Narsinghpur district where he addressed a public meeting.
The star BJP campaigner had been crisscrossing Madhya Pradesh and addressing a number of election rallies since the last couple of days.
The saffron outfit, ruling Madhya Pradesh since the last 15 years, is seeking a fourth consecutive term in office.
Madhya Pradesh will have a single phase polling on November 28 for its 230-member assembly and results will be announced on December 11.
