The 72-year-old actor stars along side Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan in the film, which explores the father and daughter relationship between Bachchan's and the 'Happy New Year' actress's characters.
"What a joy in trundling off on a cycle through the early morning streets of Kolkata, eating kachori, jalebi (for film only)," Bachchan posted on Twitter.
The actor is also set to attend the star-studded inauguration of the Kolkata Film Festival today along with his wife Jaya, son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya.
The 20th Kolkata International Film Festival will run from November 10 to 17.
