The 33-year-old notoriously raunchy Schumer will host the festivities live on April 12, 2015, reported Variety.
"I am honoured to be hosting the awards. I will carry the audience with me like a teen mom #breaktheinternet #breakmywater," Schumer said in a statement provided by MTV.
"I am hosting the @MTV Movie Awards!! #Cheers" she captioned a picture of her on Twitter.
The Award function will feature exclusive moments from upcoming 2015 summer films. Nominations will be announced at a later date.
Schumer is the first host in the show's 24 years to make the big announcement herself.
