"A Baijal, in terms of his letter dated December 30, 2016 has ceased to be a director of the company with effect from December 30, 2016 consequent to his appointment as Lt Governor, Delhi," the company informed BSE.
Baijal had joined ITC Board as a Non-Executive Independent Director on January 22, 2010.
The career bureaucrat took over as the Lt Governor of Delhi on December 31.
He was also on the boards of DHFL Pramerica Life Insurance Company Limited and International Travel House Limited, among others.
Baijal had retired from service in 2006 as Secretary, Urban Development Ministry. He is a former vice chairman of Delhi Development Authority.
