This is the second FIR lodged by the district police against Cheema after he was booked for allegedly kidnapping a proclaimed offender (PO) recently.
However, Cheema and his accomplices were still absconding.
Confirming the development, Mohali Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Indermohan Singh Bhatti said that the case has been registered against Cheema, Ajay Chowdhary and Rashmi Negi at Mataur police station.
"We have booked them and also sent teams to nab them. Soon, all the accused will be arrested," the SSP said.
Her husband, who was once allegedly a conman of Cheema, had been booked by Panchkula police last month for allegedly raping Rashmi Negi in a hotel. He was also wanted by Mohali and Chandigarh police in a fraud case.
Earlier, a kidnapping case was registered against Cheema on the complaint of an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), after he allegedly took a proclaimed offender (PO), Sumedh Gulati, who was booked in a fraud case, from Phase 1 police station here.
