Amid talks of an alliance between Samajwadi Party, Congress and JD(U) ahead of Uttar Pradesh polls, BJP today mocked such a tie-up, saying any such formation will be "pro-corruption and anti-development" as these parties are "merchants of notes and votes".
"They (SP, Congress, JD-U) all have been a failure in governance. JD(U) has failed to govern in Bihar and so has Congress in (other) states.
"The USP of these parties whether SP, Congress and JD(U) is corruption. UP is not in a mood to experiment. Our agenda is development and good governance which people have made up their mind to support," BJP national secretary Shrikant Sharma claimed.
"These parties are merchants of notes (money) and votes," he alleged.
The states ruled by BJP have seen good governance while corruption and law and order problems have not been an issue, Sharma claimed.
JD(U) and Congress are in alliance in Bihar which is suffering from corruption and law and order issues, the BJP leader alleged, adding any such alliance being formed to prevent BJP from coming to power will fail in its aim.
