Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today urged government officials to work towards achieving a double digit growth rate in the state.
Naidu, who held a meeting through video conference with district collectors and senior officials of different departments from here, told them that efforts should be made to overcome the state's revenue deficit, an AP state government release quoted him as saying.
In addition to the Centre's help to fill the revenue deficit, the AP state government should make its own efforts, the release state.
Collective efforts should be made to recover from the negative economic impact of the erstwhile united state's bifurcation, Naidu said.
Directing officials to complete tasks related to the irrigation sector, he said that seven projects should be completed on a priority basis.
The proposed Pattiseema lift irrigation project should be completed in one year so as to make the Rayalaseema region drought-free, he said.
Laying emphasis on water conservation measures, Naidu suggested preventing water wastage, controlling digging of borewells and taking up large scale tree plantation.
He urged senior officials to donate one-day's salary to construct the AP state capital which has been named Amaravathi.
