AP govt announces Rs 50 lakh cash reward for Saina Nehwal

Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy personally congratulated Saina when they travelled by the same flight from New Delhi this afternoon, a press release from Chief Minister's Office said.

The state government had also announced a Rs 50 lakh reward to shooter Gagan Narang, who too clinched a bronze medal in the Olympics.

The AP government had earlier announced a reward of Rs 50 lakh for Saina following her victory in Indonesian Open, Thailand Open and Swiss Open tournaments.

A meeting will soon be convened for distributing the cash incentives, the release added.
