Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today held a review meeting with senior officials from Rural Drinking Water Supply department, Panchayati Raj department and Rural Development department here, a press release issued by the state Information Department said.
Naidu asked the officials to prepare plans to supply purified drinking water to all the habitations in the state under the NTR Sujala Sravanthi Scheme by installing water treatment plants based on availability of water resources, it said.
Principal Secretary of the state Panchayati Raj department, K S Jawahar Reddy, informed the Chief Minister that 624 habitations in the state have so far been receiving 20 litres of purified drinking water per day for each family at the rate of Rs 2 a litre, for which 618 water treatment plants have been installed, the release added.
