Andhra Pradesh BJP chief Dr K Hari Babu today said the NDA government was committed to comprehensive development of the state, and was providing funds to the state as per the requirement.
The state was unable to utilise Rs 350 crore allocated for Polavaram irrigation project for the year 2014-15 which forced the Centre to allocate only Rs 100 crore this fiscal, Babu said.
He said unless the state utilised the allocations fully, Center can not provide additional funds for the same project and the state should speed up the Polavaram project work for getting more funds from the Center.
The Union Health Ministry will launch Central Health Services at Visakhapatnam on April 12 while foundation stone will be laid on April 25 for testing laboratory at Visakhapatnam to be set up by Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA), a body under the Union Commerce ministry, he informed.
According to him, the NDA government was keen to promote shrimp and sea food exports from AP.
The state government should constitute an agricultural exports promotion council for chillies, cotton, turmeric and other produces.
Saying that following the Centre's advise 20 states had appointed Trade Commissioners to look after the exports, Babu asked the AP government to make this appointment.
