The Andhra Pradesh Government will impose provisions of the Preventive Detention Act (PD Act) on manufacturers and suppliers of arrack in the state.
"The provisions of PD Act would be enforced against the manufacturers and suppliers of arrack," state excise minister Kollu Rabindra said after taking stock of the department with officials here.
He said about 10,000 cases have been filed against unauthorised liquor sellers and 9,500 persons have been arrested.
The minister said the government has opened 435 liquor shops in each tehsil after implementing the New Excise Policy from June.
He said all liquor shops in the state would be connected online from September 15.
