A statement issued by the AP Information Centre here said that cyclone Hudhud caused extensive damages in Visakhapatnam and neighbouring districts of Vizianagaram and Srikakulam of Andhra Pradesh, which is estimated at about 80,000 crore.
After an aerial survey on October 14, the release said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an interim relief of Rs 1000 Crore.
The release also said, Government of Andhra Pradesh has also appealed to the general public to contribute directly to CM relief fund to support the cyclone relief works.
