AP to soon announce new housing policy: Chandrababu Naidu

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today said a new housing policy will be announced very soon.
"Cabinet has decided to construct two bed room livable houses for all small employees both from public and private organisations at lower prices with higher quality," Naidu told reporters here after the state cabinet meeting.
He said that the Union Urban Development Ministry has sanctioned 1.93 lakh houses for AP and in addition the state government would take up the construction of another 2 lakh houses for the poor and middle class (residents).
"Housing is a priority subject for my government and a new housing policy will be announced very soon," Naidu said.
According to the Chief Minister, his government has decided to construct townships in various places in about 10,000 acres of land.
He said that under 'Individual Household Toilets Scheme' 7 to 8 lakhs toilets would be constructed for a year from this year onwards.
Naidu also announced that every village and every house will be provided internet facility from June.
"Construction of fibre optic line is completed in 3 north coastal districts and it would be completed by June in the remaining districts," he added.
The Chief Minister also announced that a 'Tower Corporation' would be set up to look after the fibre optics network in the state.
Meanwhile, he also said the Cabinet has decided to complete 7 major irrigation projects by allocating Rs 10,000 crore additional funds to make AP a drought-free state.
He said the Pattiseema lift irrigation project to divert the Godavari water to Krishna would be completed by March 31 year "at any cost".
Naidu also announced that a new scheme in agricultural marketing would be launched on March 1.
