APCC observes 70th death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi

The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) today observed the 70th death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan here.
The members present on the occasion remembered Gandhi as the apostle of peace, who stood for non-violence, and made supreme sacrifice in achieving the freedom of the country.
The members also pledged to reaffirm and recommit to follow the path of non-violence shown by Gandhi, by upholding and defending the idea of India, as envisioned by the leaders of the freedom movement, to fight and defeat the forces which seek to destroy the peace and tranquillity of the country.
The programme was attended by partys vice president Minkir Lollen, former minister Bida Taku, general secretaries Tachu Hina and Chera Taya, Arunachal Pradesh Youth Congress president Geli Ete, the National Students' Union of India (NSUI) state unit president Teli Mello Camdir and other rank and files of the party, a press release said.
