"A new app would be launched in the next two months, using which anyone can track the movement of 108 ambulances across the state," state health minister Vishwajit Rane said today.
He said that after calling the 108 ambulance service during an emergency, people will be able to know how far the vehicle is and how quickly it will reach the patient.
"Anyone can download the app on his mobile and track the vehicle, which he wants to know about," he added.
"Using the app, one can also know the nearest hospital and other facilities," he added.
Rane said the response time of the ambulance has been reduced considerably with 80 per cent of them attending the patient within 15 minutes.
He said the state government will procure 16 additional ambulances under the National Rural Health Mission.
