Apple Music today said it has partnered AR Rahman-founded KM Music Conservatories (KMMC) to set up Mac Labs that will teach students how to create music using Apple's professional music creation app -- Logic Pro X.
One of the centres is located in Chennai, while the other will be set up at the upcoming campus in Mumbai, Apple said in a statement.
Apple Music will also contribute to fund 10 full-time musical scholarships for students from underprivileged backgrounds, it added.
"Apple Music and the KM Music Conservatory share a deep love in discovering, sharing and nurturing musical talent and we're proud to be supporting such an institution that is investing in the future arts and music community," Apple Senior Vice President (Internet Software and Services) Eddy Cue said.
The KM Music Conservatory was founded by AR Rahman in 2008. It offers education courses in Hindustani and Western classical music and music technology.
"The labs and scholarships at KMMC make an invaluable contribution to helping to develop the talents of tomorrow's musicians and composers," Rahman said.
He added that for over 20 years, he has been a "loyal Logic Pro user".
