Aptitude test for teacher's job at state-run and aided schools

The Maharashtra government has decided to hold aptitude test for those who want teacher's job at the state-run and aided schools, education minister Vinod Tawde said here today.
Common Entrance Test conducted by local governing bodies for teacher's post will be done away with and new recruitment will be carried out through this aptitude test, Tawde said.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the state cabinet here today.
However, it will not apply to the schools which are run privately and do not receive any government aid.
The objective behind conducting an aptitude test is to prevent malpractices in the recruitment at government-aided schools and to ensure quality, Tawde said.

Candidates clearing the aptitude test will be eligible for recruitment by any school in the state, the minister said.
