Arhar, urad drop on low demand; kabuli gram edges up

Prices of arhar and urad plunged by Rs 400 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market in the national capital today owing to slackened demand against ample stocks position.
However, kabuli gram edged higher on scattered demand.
Traders said easing demand from retailers against adequate stocks position on increased supplies from producing regions mainly pulled down arhar and urad prices.
Arhar and its dal dara variety dropped by Rs 400 each to Rs 4,600 and Rs 6,600-8,400 per quintal, respectively.
Urad and its dal chilka local also fell by Rs 400 each to Rs 6,300-7,200 and Rs 6,500-6,600 per quintal. Its dal best quality and dhoya traded lower by a similar margin to Rs 6,600-7,100 and Rs 7000-7,200 per quintal.

On the other hand, kabuli gram small variety moved up by Rs 300 to Rs 10,000-10,300 per quintal.
