Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker has moved on from the box-office debacle of "Mohenjo Daro" with a new historical drama based on the third battle of Panipat.
Featuring Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Sanjay Dutt the film is titled "Panipat: The Great Betrayal" and the first teaser poster was released today by the team.
"Historical dramas have always fascinated me. This time it is a story about what led to the Third Battle of #Panipat. Here's the first Teaser Poster!!" Gowariker wrote on Twitter.
The film will bring on big screen the story behind third battle of Panipat, which was fought between the Maratha empire and the King of Afghanistan, Ahmad Shah Abdali.
"Proud to bring the valour of the Maratha warriors to the big screen! Here's the first Teaser Poster of Panipat," Arjun posted on Instgaram.
"Proud to be a part of the recounting of bravery, passion and patriotism in the Third Battle of Panipat," Kriti wrote.
The film, produced by Gowariker, wife Sunita and Rohit Shelatkar, will hit the cinemas on December 6, 2019.
