The incident took place around 5.30 PM when the accused entered the office of Manappuram Finance Ltd on the first floor of a building and allegedly got its strong room unlocked at gun-point, they said.
One of the accused earlier visited the branch masquerading as a customer and later went there in the evening along with his accomplices, DCP Phoolchand Pawar said.
When the employees refused to open the strong room, the accused allegedly threatened them.
They locked all the employees inside the strong room. The accused also damaged the CCTV cameras in the office.
Crime branch is investigating the matter.
