Army has launched a free "residential coaching" programme for the students of Chenab Valley belt in Jammu and Kashmir to help them crack the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Exam (IIT-JEE).

"Centre for Social Responsibility & Leadership (CSRL) in association with Army's Delta Force has launched Chenab Super-30 programme to provide eleven months free residential coaching for clearing the Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Exam (IIT-JEE) to the talented youth of Chenab Valley," a senior Army official said.

The proposal has drawn overwhelming response from students in the three districts of Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban, which is known as the Chenab Valley region.

In order to clarify the queries of aspirants from Kishtwar town, a seminar was organised at Ashiana Boys Hostel by the Army's Rashtriya Rifles battalion based at Kishtwar, he said.

The programme got an overwhelming response from the students, especially girls, which was evident from the 250 registrations done by students on the spot, he said.

A student, Mohd Yusuf, of Kishtwar said, "We appreciate the Army for bringing such quality education at our doorstep. Students in the area, especially the girls, are excited at the prospect of receiving coaching from such reputed franchise of Delhi-based Abhyanad Super-30 series."

The Army spokesperson highlighted that the entrance exam for Chenab Super 30 will be held in first week of June at various centres in the three districts of Doda, Ramban and Kishtwar.

The students must register with nearest Rashtriya Rifles battalion located in their area.
