Army, NDRF teams deployed in Chittorgarh and Bhilwara district

Army and NDRF teams have been deployed in Chittorgarh and Bhilwara district which have been hit by floods.
Several hundred affected people have been shifted to safer places since yesterday by the rescue teams.
"The situation has slightly improved as the rainfall is not incessant now but as a precautionary measure, Army and NDRF teams have been deployed in the district today for rescue and relief works," said Chittorgarh district collector, Inderjeet Singh.
Singh informed that that nearly 500 people in urban areas were shifted to places like schools, inn and community halls and were provided food and water.
"Water level in rivers is high and dams are also filled to capacity therefore the situation is alarming but since there are no heavy rains since yesterday, the situation is likely to improve soon," he said.

As part of the rescue operation, the Air Force airlifted 16 people yesterday in both the districts.

"Water logging is in several areas and many villages were cut off from the district headquarters," said Bhilwara collector, Tina Kumar.
Affected people were evacuated and shifted to other places, Kumar added.
The officials informed that there is no report of any untoward incident due to rainfall.
