Naib Subedar Suresh Kumar Saini, a Junior Commissioned Officer, has donated blood 76 times at Army camps and 29 times at civil camps since 1986, when he joined the Army.
"My greatest hope is that this might be an inspiration for young and elderly people to start or continue donating blood," Saini said.
Defence spokesperson SD Goswami said, "With today's donation, Saini has so far given 105 units of blood, which adds up to 36 litre and 750 ml."
Safe transfusion of blood helps save millions of lives every year as it can ensure patients suffering from life-threatening conditions lived longer. It was also crucial for complex medical and surgical procedures, Goswami said.
