Arrow Coated Products Ltd (ACPL) today said it has tied up with UK-based TraceTag International Ltd (TTI) for integration and use of the latter's DNA taggants within security documents.
"Following a successful co-operative programme in the field of banknote paper traceability, we have entered into an exclusive arrangement with TraceTag International Ltd for the integration and use of its DNA taggants within security documents," a company statement said here.
ACPL has granted patent rights in various countries, including India, and part of its security patent portfolio includes security films for manufacturing of high security paper such as banknote, passport, and non-judicial stamp papers and for brand protection applications. These patents are managed by the dedicated IP cell of ACPL.
Arrow Coated Products CEO Shilpan Patel stated: "By combining two separately patented technologies, we can enter business sectors which have previously been problematic for us. This co-operation agreement represents a strategic move forward for Arrow in the security business."
TraceTag International Ltd CEO Paul Roquette said, "The delivery systems of Arrow Coated Products fit technically very well with the use of our DNA tracers. With regards to the security documents industry in particular, the above delivery systems allow the DNA tracing of paper in well-monitored conditions, avoiding waste and eliminating completely any marker cross-contamination issues from previous batches of security paper.
