Taking up the matter of 'no detention' policy introduced in the elementary level schools, Ngandam in a meeting with the minister at New Delhi yesterday stated that the policy has led to the deterioration of education system, an official communique said.
Javadekar, while sharing his concern said that the Centre was aware of the issue.
"The Centre is seriously thinking of authorizing the states to review and do away with the system, whereever it was not found suitable," Javadekar said.
Issue relating to establishment of Government Model Colleges in the districts of Tirap, Changlang and Longding under flagship programme was also taken up with the Ministry along with other important issues of granting special relaxation in B.
