Ashwini-Ivanov in main draw of French Open

India's Ashwini Ponnappa and her Russian partner Vladimir Ivanov qualified for the main draw of the mixed doubles event at the USD 275,000 French Open Super Series, here today.
Ashwini and Ivanov first defeated local pair of Vincent Espen and Manon Krieger 21-9 21-7 in 20 minutes before getting a walkover from the Dutch pair of Robin Tabeling and Iris Tabeling in their next qualifying round match at the Stade Pierre de Coubertin.
The Indo-Russian combination will now play their first round match against another qualifying pair tomorrow.
