Aspiring cricketer dies in accident

A young cricketer died in an accident in the wee hours here today, police said.
26-year-old Umesh Kharvi's motorcycle hit a tree this morning. He died on the way to hospital and Mithun Kumar, who was a pillion rider, suffered minor injuries, police said.
Kharvi was a right-hand batsman and a medium pacer. The all-rounder had represented Karnataka in the Under-17 in 2002 to 2004, South Zone Under-17 between 2002 and 2004, India Under-17 in 2003-04, Karnataka Under-22 in 2007-08.
He was also part of the Karnataka State Cricket Association-XI.
