Assam government was taking inclusive steps to resolve all issues of the Koch-Rajbongshi community including the demand for Scheduled Tribe status which has been already taken up with the Centre, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said today.
"The state government is taking positive steps to ensure land rights of all indigenous people of the state and will provide land documents to those indigenous people who do not have it," the Chief Minister said during discussions with the Biswajit Ray led faction of Asom Koch Rajbongshi Students' Union (AKRSU) here.
AKRSU has also submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister who assured the leaders to look into their demands sympathetically.
Commissioner and Secretary (Home) L S Changsan informed the AKRSU delegation that the state government was in consultation with the Centre for a tripartite talk, likely to be held by the end of this month.
