In his message, the Governor said, Eid-ul-Fitr literally means 'festival of breaking the fast' by the Muslim community to celebrate the conclusion of the month of fasting.
The Governor said the festival of Eid-ul-Fitr is also an occasion for happiness and is marked by the spirit of universal brotherhood, compassion and love for fellow beings and these help us to get over problems like conflicts, insurgency and climate change.
The Governor expressed hope that this auspicious occasion would further strengthen the bonds of communal harmony and brotherhood and usher in a period of sustained peace, progress and prosperity.
Sonowal expressed hope the festival would continue to foster unity and integrity among all sections of society and usher in development and prosperity.
