Assam tighten grip on Goa
Press Trust of India Porvorim Assam remained in control against Goa on day three as Tarjinder Singh struck a fine century for the visiting team in the Ranji Trophy Group C cricket match here today.
Assam, resuming at 243 for five and having already taken the first innings lead, went on to declare at 435 for eight.
Tarjinder (119) and J Syed Mohammad (69) were the main contributors to the total.
Goa, who made 175 in their first innings, were 82 for no loss at stumps today with Sunil Desai (42*) and Swapnil Asnodkar (31*) holding fort. They still need to make 179 runs to make Assam bat again.
