"India should ensure the guarantee of safety of Punjabis, Sikhs and Indians from the Australian government so that such incidents do not recur. This is an issue where immediate action is required," Avinash Rai Khanna said during Zero Hour.
Such incidents keep happening and would not stop till strict action is taken against the culprits, he said amid slogan-shouting by opposition members in the Well over government's alleged interference in the affairs of Aligarh Muslim University.
Tarun Vijay, also BJP, raised the issue of nine tribal youths being allegedly shot by the police in Manipur last year while protesting against three bills passed by the state assembly "without any discussion" and without any consultations with stakeholders and tribal bodies.
"All they (tribal people) want is to live within the constitutional framework of India. They are Jai Hind people of Manipur," he said and lamented that while the House is disrupted on "small issues", no party speaks about the Manipuri youths being killed.
He said the Centre must ensure that the President does not sign those bills and demanded a high level inquiry into the police shootout and punishment to the killers.
As Husain Dalwai of Congress started making his Zero Hour mention, his party colleagues were seen asking him not to go ahead with it. Dalwai agreed and was later seen standing in the aisle with his colleagues protesting over the AMU issue.
