At least 10 stray cows crushed under vehicle

At least ten stray cows, who were crossing the National Highway-8 near Chirhara village, about 11 km from here, were killed by an unknown vehicle in the wee hours today, police said.
The driver of the unknown vehicle sped away after the accident, police said.
Police have registered a case of mischief by killing and maiming cows, mischief causing damage, act endangering life of cows and rash driving against the driver on a complaint by Omvir Gujjar, a resident of the adjoining Asalwas village, they said.
