A local court has initiated attachment proceedings against two convicts, who were absconding after being granted bail by the Allahabad High Court.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Narender Kumar, following the direction of Allahabad High Court, yesterday initiated attachment proceedings against Vedpal and Brahm Singh, convicted by a lower court in a murder case in Bhokaheri village here in 1987.
According to the prosecution, the two accused were sentenced to life imprisonment by a lower court in a murder case in 1987. The duo had appealed against the verdict in the High Court and were released on bail. However, when their appeal came for hearing after 26 years, they were found absconding.
