Som and Rana have been booked under the National Security Act for their alleged involvement in the riots, which claimed 49 lives, and have been lodged in Urai and Banda district jails, respectively.
The district authorities have requested the court to allow their hearing through video conferencing, a facility available in both the jails in Banda and Urai in view of the prevailing law and order situation, District Magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma told PTI here today.
The hearing of two MLAs is fixed for October 4.
BJP MLA Sangeet Som was arrested for alleged involvement in fake video uploading case and making provocative speeches that played a role in provoking communal tension.
Another BJP MLA Suresh Rana was arrested on the charge of making provocative speeches here to incite riots.
