US-based data science firm Axtria today said it has plans to hire around 700 data science professionals in India by the end of this year.
"Axtrias current workforce in India is 750 . The company plans to double its headcount by the end of this year," Axtrias co-founder and CEO Jaswinder Chadha today said while launching a delivery centre in Noida.
The Noida facility is companys fourth in the NCR. The other three are in Cybercity, Gurgaon with the most recent one being launched in September last year. Axtria also has offices in New Jersey, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, London, and Dublin.
Chadha said in a statement that the company is witnessing extensive demand for solutions from across the globe and Indian delivery centres have played a key role in this surge of demand.
"We think our current infrastructure between Gurgaon and Noida will have the capacity for roughly around 1,400 people. As we grow, we will decide whether to increase our capacity in NCR or consider south of India. The reason we are expanding in India is to continue to innovate and build solutions that resonate with our clients globally," Chadha said.
Axtria was co-founded by serial entrepreneurs and angel investors Jaswinder Chadha and Navdeep Chadha. Their earlier venture marketRx, an analytics and software services provider for global life sciences companies, was acquired by Cognizant in 2007.
