An Azeri businessman was killed in his office in Istanbul by a former Azeri ex-police chief who was detained by Turkish police a few hours later, local media reported on Thursday.
Etimat Ismayilov, the son of former prosecutor-general Ilyas Ismayilov in Azerbaijan during the Soviet era who also later served as a former minister of justice, was shot in the head and heart, according to Hurriyet daily.
The suspect had come to Ismailov's office for a meeting but the two men began arguing and it became an "armed fight" late on Wednesday, the DHA news agency said.
