AAP spokesperson and Punjab affairs in-charge Sanjay Singh today took a jibe at Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and state Congress chief Amarinder Singh saying the two leaders were fighting the upcoming state Assembly polls on the 'haath mein takdi' (the poll symbols of Congress and Akali Dal respectively) symbol.
"The AAP wave is storming Punjab. Badal and Amarinder are fighting the election together on the symbol haath mein takdi (scale in hand)," he said.
Amarinder contesting the polls from Lambi, the constituency of Badal, was a "sham to fool the people of Punjab", the Aam Aadmi Party leader told a rally here.
"But, despite all their underhand tactics, AAP will win over 100 seats in Punjab and form the government," he claimed.
The Malwa region, which accounted for some 69 Assembly seats in the state, itself was going to give AAP the majority to form the government, while the Majha and Doaba regions will help the party bag "more than 100 seats", Singh said, adding that AAP will ensure that all the corrupt leaders and drug mafia were sent to jail if voted to power in Punjab.
Reacting to the accusation of the opponents that the party knew nothing about governance, he said, "Yes, the Aam Aadmi Party knows nothing about the kind of misgovernance which leads to multi-crore scams, but we do know the kind of governance which creates mohalla clinics and improves the education system like the way it has been done in Delhi.
