Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has developed viral infection following which he cancelled all his engagements, officials said here today.
The five-time Chief Minister is "progressing well" and expected to be back to normal health in 3 to 4 days, they said.
Doctors attending 89-year-old Badal said he has been advised rest for 3 to 4 days.

Arvind Kejriwal hails from Haryana so he is naturally inclined towards "safeguarding" its interests and wants to snatch Punjab's waters for his (home) state's benefit, Badal alleged.
Later at village Roranwali, he claimed the entire work to preserve Punjab's glorious cultural heritage has been undertaken by the SAD-BJP government.
Assailing Captain Amarinder Singh for issuing baseless statements, he alleged that during his stint as chief minister, he had "done nothing for preserving" Punjab's culture.
Rather than making efforts to upkeep the glorious heritage, the Congress party led by Captain hurt sentiments of every Punjabi by attacking their religious institutions, he alleged.
Condemning the attack on media by AAP leaders, the chief minister said, this was just the beginning and more would follow.
He said the AAP leadership was totally ignorant about democratic norms, due to which they had scant respect towards values associated with it.
"AAP is like a band of entertainers who are least bothered about respecting the basic ethos of democracy," Badal added.
