While reviewing the progress on the farmers' pending issues with the senior officers in a meeting here at CMO, Badal asked the Revenue department to come out with a viable policy for disbursement of relief to the farm labourers in case of natural calamities in future to offset their financial stringencies.
The chief minister also impressed upon the Centre to immediately provide a relief of Rs 20,000 per acre to the farmers who have suffered substantial loss to their crops from 'whitefly' pest attack in the state.
The state government has already sent a comprehensive proposal in this regard for consideration of the Union Government.
