Bail for suspended IAS officer accused in a bribery case

A local court today granted bail to suspended IAS officer Ashok Singhvi who is accused in a bribery case under Excise Act.
The court of Metropolitan Magistrate 10 accepted the bail application on Thursday and the magistrate Ashutosh granted bail today.
A case under Excise Act was lodged against Singhvi, who is one of the accused in a bribery case involving Rs.2.5 crore filed in September last year after 177 bottles of foreign liquor were recovered from his house during a raid by Anti-Corruption Bureau.
Singhvi was the Principal Secretary (Mines) at the time of arrest.
