Bajwa extended support to the Association's cause and said "Sacrifice of pharmacist Jaswinder Singh will not go waste."
"There are many other qualified professionals in Punjab who are facing unemployment. The SAD-BJP government has ruined the life of educated youth. There are many colleges but no jobs," he said, according to a party release here.
Ironically, neither Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal nor SAD's Bathinda MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal took note of the pharmacist's suicide and none of them visited the family of the deceased, Bajwa said.
Pharmacists have been waiting for salaries for the past four months and were sitting on dharna at zilla parishad office for 18 days.
Singh was working as pharmacist for over two years and like other pharmacists was getting a consolidated amount of Rs 7,000 per month.
The Congress leader said that unemployed veterinary pharmacists and those getting meagre salaries were agitating since long but the SAD-BJP government has not listened to their demands.
Bajwa demanded compensation of Rs 25 lakh for Singh's family and a job for the wife of the deceased.
