Dwayne Johnson-led HBO comedy-drama "Ballers" is set to conclude after its fifth season.
The news was shared by Johnson in an Instagram post on Friday, saying that his heart is "full of gratitude".
"You made us HBO's highest rated comedy for years and most importantly, you helped create and sustain a platform for other actors to have the opportunity to work hard, grow and become household names.
"To me, the opportunity 'Ballers' created for so many others, is the real gold of our show. I love you, I thank you and enjoy our final season of 'Ballers'," the 47-year-old actor wrote in the post.
"Ballers", which has been one of the HBO's top comedies since it premiered in 2015, features Johnson as Spencer Strasmore, a retired NFL player who must navigate his new career of choice as the financial manager of other NFL players.
Stephen Levinson has created the show and he also executive produces it alongside Johnson, Mark Wahlberg, Dany Garcia, Peter Berg, Evan Reilly, Rob Weiss, Julian Farino and Denis Biggs.
The show's cast also includes Rob Corddry, John David Washington and Omar Miller.
Johnson most recently featured in "Fast & Furious" spin-off "Hobbs & Shaw", alongside Jason Statham and Idris Elba. The actor now awaits the release of "Jumanji: The Next Level", the sequel to his 2017 blockbuster "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle".
