The accused forced the pilgrims, who were coming from Noida and proceeding to Mahaveer Ji in Rajasthan, to stop their vehicle on the national highway falling under Chhatta police station yesterday, according to an FIR.
"They immediately swang into action and looted seven costly mobile phones and about 20 thousand cash from the pilgrims on gun point," the FIR stated.
The cost of the looted articles in expected to be over one lakh, according to the complaint filed by one of the pilgrim.
"The hunt for the culprits is on. We hope to nab them shortly," Dy SP Atul Kumar Srivastava said.
