The advances had stood at Rs 56,84,690 crore in the corresponding fortnight last year.
Banks' credit had risen 11.29 per cent to Rs 62,84,396 crore in the previous fortnight ended November 28.
In the reporting period, deposits grew 10.63 per cent to Rs 82,92,975 crore from Rs 74,95,719 crore in the year-ago fortnight.
In the fortnight ended November 28, 2014, deposits had grown 11.70 per cent to Rs 83,17,049 crore.
The demand deposits had risen 7.60 per cent to Rs 7,39,621 crore in the fortnight ended December 12 as against Rs 6,87,320 crore in the year-ago period.
