Bank manager caught red-handed for accepting Rs 40,000 bribe

: A senior public sector bank official was nabbed by the CBI Anti-corruption branch for allegedly and accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000 from a man to sanction a loan under the unemployed youth employment generation programme.
The agency, acting on a complaint from the man that M S Eranna, Branch Manager of Central Bank of India at Santhur in Krishnagiri district had demanded the amount, set a trap and caught him red-handed while he accepted the bribe from the complainant, a CBI press release said.
Details of the complainant and when the manager was arrested were not revealed in the release.
Eranna, who was produced before the CBI Special Court, Coimbatore, was remanded to judicial custody till July 30, it said, adding the agency has undertaken a search at three places in this connection.
