Bank manager held for taking bribe for sanctioning loan

The manager of nationalised bank at a village in Theni district was arrested today for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 7,000 from a man for sanctioning education loan for his daughter.
Acting on a complaint from the man, officials of the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption wing set up a trap and nabbed the manager of the Central Bank of India at Ammachiapuram village when he was taking the money.
Later, a local court remanded him to 15 days judicial custody.
