All banks in the Kolhan region comprising industrial and mineral-rich districts of East and West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharswan downed their shutters and the employees staged dharna in front of their respective banks to mount pressure in support of their demands.
The strike is 100 per cent successful as no transaction is taking place in any bank, R A Singh, Convenor of United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), Jharkhand, told PTI.
The strike was likely to cause a loss of Rs.3000 crores in the state including Rs.250 crores per day in Jamshedpur circle alone, Singh claimed.
