Fearing heavy rush of customers, banks in West Bengal have requested the state administration and police to provide security at branches and ATMs which will open from tomorrow after the demonetization of Rs 500 and 1,000 currency notes.
In a letter written to the state chief secretary, director general of police and Kolkata police commissioner, the state level bankers committee requested them to provide adequate security at all bank branches and ATM counters in the state.
