At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, barley for delviery in far-month May contracts eased by Rs 13 or 1.08 per cent to Rs 1,190 per quitnal with an open interest of 1,820 lots.
On similar lines, delivery in April month contracts moved down by Rs 12, or 1.01 per cent to Rs 1,176 per quintal, in an open interest of 3,510 lots.
Marketmen said offloading of positions by speculators, trigered by low demand agaisnt higher supplies in the spot markets in view of approaching harvesting season, led to the fall in barley prices at future trading.
