"We are keenly following the developments (IOA suspension) and the matter might come up for discussion. The BCCI brass is very disappointed that the money that was contributed in the Rs 80 crore BEST fund ( BCCI-NSDF Elite Sports Talent fund) hasn't been spent properly," a BCCI insider preferring anonymity told PTI today.

"The BCCI had filed an RTI and we found out that only a nominal percentage of the BEST fund has been spent. Also we gave the money for benefit of medal prospects and we saw that money was spent on renovation of academies. Now with IOA's suspension, we need to take a call on whether we will ask for the money back from the ministry," the official said.

Rs 6 crore was spent on construction of a stadium Jammu & Kashmir and Rs 4 crore for upgradation of PT Usha's academy.

In fact the BCCI officials are now having a laugh at the IOA and sports ministry who will now be desperate to set their house in order.

"The ministry wanted us under the NSF and RTI but look at how IOA has been run," another BCCI official commented.
